Doug
and Crystal Duncan ventured down to Mexico
over the week of Thanksgiving last year and had a GREAT TIME. Because
Crystal was pregnant and we ended up in an all-inclusive resort ($65/day
mandatory for food & booze), we really didn't get our money's
worth, 'cause she couldn't drink of course and the food was pretty
awful. Other than that, we had a pretty good time and the weather
was OK. We had both extremes of the Cancun weather there. The first
3 days it was extremely hot and humid, and the last 3 days it was
cold and windy and occasionally rainy. The beach and cool blue colored
water was an awesome sight though. This was our first trip to Mexico
and thought it would be a great place to travel for our "last
blast" before we have the baby next May. We met a couple of our
friends from Missoula, MT there (Craig & Lani Bolenbaugh) and
it was a great time.

Duncan, who lives in San Francisco, CA invited
the immediate family to a mini-reunion over the weekend of October
6th through the 9th. This included Doug & Crystal Duncan from
Denver (us), Jere Duncan from Billings, MT, Janet Duncan from NYC,
and Angi Duncan from Spartanburg, SC. My mother (Jere) also has a
long lost half brother in that area that we all met, so that added
to the excitement. It was an extremely fun time for all of us, with
all that we were able to see and do there. Sue somehow was volunteered
to be our chauffeur and tour guide and was excellent in doing so.
I could have not asked for a better driver and tour guide around the
San Francisco area even though she had to drive a van the size of
the space shuttle. She had more information than most historians of
the San Francisco area. Crystal's 29th birthday fell on Friday, October
6th while we were there and that very much added to the fun. We were
very much looking forward to going to San Francisco because we had
never been there before and it was such a cool city. We will be back!!
The
reunion in Livingston, MT went great with a very good turnout. The
event was hosted by Web & Phyllis Sullivan on their property in
Livingston, MT. The fires weren't so bad then, so it was very pleasant.
